Wheelchairs

The Frans Hals Museum (Groot Heiligland) is largely accessible with mobility aids. Unfortunately, the room where the 18th-century doll’s house is exhibited isn’t wheelchair accessible. Both of the museum’s locations have an accessible toilet.

Location HAL

Location HAL is also largely accessible for wheelchairs, except for the third floor. Unfortunately, Location HAL isn’t accessible for mobility scooters.

You can book a wheelchair by emailing info@franshalsmuseum.nl or calling +31 (0)23 511 57 75. We’d be happy to reserve one for you. Please note: the road surface in front of both museum locations is bumpy and sloped.

FREE ADMISSION FOR PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANTS

Personal care assistants accompanying people with a physical or non-physical disability can enter free of charge. Please talk to our staff upon arrival. They’ll be happy to help you.

PORTABLE STOOLS

Lightweight portable stools are available so you don't need to worry about standing for long periods of time. Please ask for one at the reception desk. In addition, several of the museum’s rooms contain benches.

ASSISTANCE DOGS

The museum is happy to welcome visitors with an assistance dog.

HIDDEN DISABILITIES SUNFLOWER LANYARD

Our staff members are trained to recognise the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower lanyard. Hidden Disabilities Sunflower lanyards are specially designed for people with hidden disabilities such as autism, Alzheimer’s, dementia, chronic pains and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Do you have a Hidden Disabilities Sunflower lanyard? Please bring it with you on your museum visit.

BACKPACKS

Backpacks and large handbags may not be taken into the museum. Would you prefer to keep your bag with you for medical reasons? Please tell the reception staff when you visit.
