Constant Dullaart (Leiderdorp, 1979)

Jennifer in Paradise

2013

When Photoshop was still in its infancy, users could use this photo to practice with. It was a photo that the founder of the company had taken of his wife Jennifer while on holiday at Bora Bora. Her bare back became an integral part of a historic moment in digital image culture. Constant Dullaart manipulated the photo using as many filters as possible. Jennifer is an important photograph to the artist – the first body that could be photoshopped like an object, into an unrealistic ideal.
