Leaving a gift in your will is a very special way of supporting a museum. Our museum displays Frans Hals’s own legacy every day. Would you like to add to this legacy with a gift of your own? You can see an outline of your options below.
Your personal legacy
If you name the museum an heir or joint heir in your will, it’ll inherit a part or percentage of your assets. The Frans Hals Museum is classified as an ANBI (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling, or Public Benefit Organisation), which means it doesn’t have to pay inheritance tax. We can help you phrase your wishes correctly.
You also have the option to bequest an object. We’re very grateful for any such gift. However, we have to be selective when acquiring new objects. We’re only able to accept objects in accordance with our acquisition policies.
Erfstelling of Legaat
Je kunt in jouw testament kiezen tussen een erfstelling en een legaat aan een culturele instelling. Erfstelling is de optie waarbij het Frans Hals Museum een erfdeel ontvangt: een bepaald deel of percentage van je nalatenschap.
Een legaat houdt in dat je een vooraf vastgesteld bedrag in geld of een goed (zoals een huis of schilderij) nalaat aan het Frans Hals Museum. Via een legaat kun je in jouw testament zelf omschrijven welk deel van je erfenis je precies wenst aan ons na te laten.

Any specific requests you may have concerning your legacy should be specified in your will in the presence of a notary public or solicitor. If you wish to include the Frans Hals Museum in your will, please let us know. We’d like to thank you and invite you to meet us at the museum, if you’d like to.
